Last feature release for this season – after that, a feature freeze, until the thaw.

The “lodge unavailable” facility has been generalised and renamed “lodge special periods”.  Still called “lodge availability” in the admin menu.  Now, when defining a date range, you can choose whether bookings are allowed or not.  Previously with this facility, bookings are prevented.  The idea is to be able to identify a period with special characteristics, e.g.  “noisy kids week” or “painters in upstairs” so that members know before they arrive.  The mouseover text is shown also to non-members, if you are allowing bookings, but only shown to members, if bookings are prevented.

• On screen reports now have an improved print style which makes it easy to print them out for posting on your notice board.  This includes the room occupancy report – ideal for showing parties to their rooms on arrival.

Another release today, with some more new features:

• When you edit and save anything in the site config, e.g.  email formats, the save is now faster and you don’t lose your place on the page (AJAX for those technical people who like to know…)
• An additional email to guests and members after their visit.  You set the number of days after the visit ends, and the email is sent automatically.  Use it to invite feedback or to link to a survey, for example.

I’m pleased to report that I spent a very active and enjoyable week at the Rover lodge, out the back of the Bogong High Plains this winter.  It was great to actually be out there, and not just hearing about the snow from all of you!
