Paypal Upgrades
Paypal buttons have arrived in the new software pages. These replicate the functions that existed on the old pages, with additional buttons for members when viewing their bookings - they now see the same payment choices that admin Manage Bookings displays.
In addition we have added Single Click Refunds to PayPal receipts (same function was added to eWay earlier this year). When you view a receipt, if it is a Paypal or eWay receipt you can click on the REFUND button, which sends the funds back to the customer and updates the Booking Service ledger with a REFUND transaction to square up the booking or member balance. You don't need to log in to your Paypal or eWay account. Note that Paypal retains their fee when you refund.
To make the new Paypal buttons work, you need to get a couple of fields from your Paypal account and enter them into the Booking Service, instructions are at https://help.cbdweb.net/site-configuration/setting-up-paypal/
Victorian Government support
You may be eligible for a support payment from the Victorian government for refunds made on cancelled bookings. Details: https://www.business.vic.gov.au/support-for-your-business/grants-and-assistance/business-support-package/regional-tourism-accommodation-support-program
We can produce a spreadsheet of relevant bookings with the required information, get in touch if you need it.
Empty Days
In case you missed it, in your Site Config is a new item EMPTY_DAYS which you can set to require a room (or bed) to be vacant between bookings.
Member data for your contacts
Your member data can now be downloaded in Outlook or Google Contacts format for your address book. Look for it on the Download tab of admin -> View Members.
Make your own pages
Not quite a full CMS, but you can create a Config Item, make it HTML, and it can be viewed as a page. You can set an access level required to view it. This is a generalisation of your Booking Rules page, for example. The only part you can't do yourself is update the menu to point to your new page.
Other pages
Other pages have been moving to the new software framework. In particular members view of their bookings and transactions has migrated. Their view of a booking now includes payment buttons, and some fields in a booking can be edited by the member, such as email address, phone etc.
For admin, the audit trail of emails sent has migrated and now has filters to make it more useful.
Date dependent email insert
Useful for e.g. door-codes or lodge captain information. Via admin menu -> bookings -> date text. Enter a date and a message. Include relevant dates in any booking email template with %DATE_TEXT%. If your door codes have a smart controller, you can use an API call to update the booking system with door code information. More help at https://help.cbdweb.net/emails/date-text
Require the member in the Lodge
Your Season Periods always had a check-box to require the member making the booking to be included in the booking. Now another checkbox allows the member to be in a different booking, so long as the member is present in a booking for each night of the new booking.
